The 8-shaped blind plate is a combination of a solid circle and a hollow circle. When conveying fluid, the hollow circle is used, and when cutting off, the solid circle is used, similar to the function of a shut-off valve. It can be used to cut off when the valve leaks. Its sealing performance is relatively good.

Usually used on pipelines with larger diameters, one end of the flange is used to occupy the spacing to keep the pipeline unobstructed. If necessary, a blind plate with the same thickness at the other end is used to cut off the pipeline. Avoid forced expansion of pipelines due to temporary replacement of other blind plates, which may affect the entire system.

Combustible or toxic medium pipelines entering and exiting the device should be equipped with double gate valves, and an 8-shaped blind plate should be installed on the double gate valve. Such 8-shaped blind plates are generally marked as normally open. 

When selecting an 8-shaped blind plate, attention should be paid to matching it with the flange used to clamp it. The length of the bolts used for clamping should be appropriately extended according to the thickness of the blind plate.

Application

For medium and high pressure equipment and pipelines that are connected to the open and closed drain for manual discharge, an 8-shaped blind plate is installed behind the shut-off valve.

At the interface reserved for later construction equipment or devices, an 8-shaped blind plate should be installed at the shut-off valve.The 8-shaped blind flange is commonly used for pipeline flanges that need to change the process. The materials mainly include carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy, which can be selected based on the pressure level and medium of the pipeline

All pipelines connecting the factory air, instrument air, nitrogen, and gas supply pipelines to the LNG plant are equipped with valves and spectacle blinds, which are located between the shut-off valve and our device.
